BOOK REVIEW CONTEST FOR CHILDREN
Tamil Nadu Children’s Writers & Artists Association (TNCWAA) is excited to announce a Book Review Contest for Children across the world. We invite our Tamil children (and other children also) to participate in large number in this international contest.

Gear up to put down your thoughts in writing on your favorite book in the form of review.
Who can participate?
Children from all over the world are invited to submit their reviews on their favorite book and be a part of this grand contest.
What is the scope of this contest?
As there is no limitation to a child’s imagination, so is the scope of this contest. You are free to pick any book of your choice or liking – story books/poetry/drama/essays. Your review is expected to include content of the book, its pros and cons, writing style, illustrations and design and not limited to these.
Why this contest?
The objective of this contest is to initiate dialogue and deliberation among stakeholders with regard to reading habits of children and their choices of books.

- Age 8-12
- Age 13-18

Any language book
Guidelines for submission of Review
- Last date for submission of your review: October 15, 2025
- Multiple number of entries is accepted (A child can write more than one review)
- Age 8-12: Review must contain a minimum of 250 words
- Age 13-18: Review must contain a minimum of 450 words
- There is no maximum word limit
- Review must be sent in typed format in “Unicode” and E-mailed to us
- Your submission needs to be original and not published elsewhere before
- Reviews must be written in your own words and not with the assistance of any AI-related applications
- Entries must be sent to contact.tncwaa@gmail.com
- Best reviews will be selected by children’s writers and selected reviews will be published in TNCWAA website.
- Selected reviews will be published on Kindle E-book
- Reviews must be written in English or Tamil
- Any book from any language can be selected by the participant to review. A Tamil book can be reviewed in English and vice-versa.
- Since we expect children to express their own opinions, parents should not guide them on content and ideas, but they can help by correcting mistakes.
Your review must contain the following:
- Name of the book
- Name of the author
- Name of the publisher
- Language in which the book is originally written
- Name of the translator, if any
- Name of the illustrator
- Front cover image
- Name of the child/participant
- Age of the participant
- E-mail Id of parent(s)
- Reference: Individual / Name of Tamil Organization / school
Suggestions
- Tamil books category: We recommend that you choose books published after 2000.
- Other language books: No such time frame
- We suggest that you refrain from books with regressive ideas and/or religious polarization.
- We, in general, recommend contemporary children literature
- List of books are suggested at the end for your reference
